As you know, here at Hemisphere Beverages and Zobo Love, we’re all about:

“love for self, love for fam, and love for we really are (am?)”

Anyway.

When we embarked on this journey, a year ago, to create a healthy all-natural and convenient drink, we had no idea that one of our biggest fan bases would come from… kids.

Zobo has apparently become a hit with kids on several contintents. LOL!

So this year, we decided to really give the kids more of what they are craving.

Not just healthy drinks, but healthy entertainment as well.

It’s More Than Just Sodas Polluting Our Kids

We all know that kids today are unfortunately exposed to way more than their fair share of inappropriate media.

I won’t elaborate on that – you all have seen it, too.

Just walk through any checkout aisle in the grocery store, and see what’s at kids’ eye-level.

It Shouldn’t Be That Way.

Who’s Getting It Right?

We think stuff can be FUN, COOL, ENTERTAINING…
but also educational, morally uplifting, inspirational, and encouraging of healthy living.

We applaud old school shows like Sesame Street, Electric Company, and so on.

But we also salute new school shows like Super Why, The Backyardigans, Little Bill, Dora the Explorer, and so on.

Their associated books are great as well.

Shows that not only entertain, but also equip our kids to be the best they possibly can.

But What About Tom & Jerry?

Hey – don’t get me wrong.  We love the Tom & Jerry’s, the Alvin & the Chipmunks, the Pinky & the Brain’s as much as the next person!

There’s definitely a place for mindless hilarity, for kids AND for adults.

But beyond that, our kids do need more positive messages to reinforce what their parents are teaching them at home.

We hope to throw our hat into the ring – and broaden our message of healthy living beyond DRINKING good stuff, to DOING good stuff.

We’re working hard to provide more edutainment, for kids reading pleasure, viewing pleasure, and the like.

It is cold and damp in the laboratory closet.

My brother is still wearing his school back pack.

The boy never takes that thing off.

He even tried to wear it to bed, once. Ugh.

I told him to be careful.  But of course, he didn’t listen.

Now the juicebox in his bag has burst,

And is dripping through his back pack, onto the closet floor!

It’s soaking my shoes! Aaargh!

If the creepy little man sneaking around Daddy and Mommy’s lab finds us in here…

Because of my brother’s DRIPPYNESS…

I’ll…

“They’re messing with Dad and Mom’s stuff!”, whispers my brother loudly.

Too loudly.

He had never been good at whispering.

“SHH!”, I put my finger on my mouth and frown at him.

The creepy little guy in the shadows just stopped what he was doing, to listen.

“Don’t! Move!”, I growl at my brother, between my teeth.

He sticks his tongue out at me.  But he stays put.  He’s as scared as I am.

Creepy guy goes back to stealing our parents stuff.

He’s copying their notes with some fancy scanning machine.

We’ve got to DO something!

I press my eye closer against the crack in the door closet.  Trying to get a better look.

“Ouch, you stepped on me!”, whispers drippy boy angrily.

I ignore him.

Dad and Mom had better get here soon!  We texted them 3 minutes ago!

They’ll be so crushed that this horrible guy is messing with their formula.

All this research on naturally occurring super plants, has been part of our lives for a long time.

They’ve dedicated their lives to helping kids be healthier.

After seven years, Daddy and Mommy (both scientists) had finally discovered  a unique combination that would change things forever!

They were calling the formula…

Super Z One Hundred and Eight.

(Why 108?  The first one-hundred-and-seven tries at making Super Z, well… failed miserably.)

That huge container with the red stuff in it is the only supply of Super Z 108 anywhere in the world.

Scientists from around the world have been calling and calling.

Some fancy-sounding magazines, too.

They all want to know how to make it…

How to use it…

Daddy and Mommy don’t mind sharing with the world.

It’s why they do this.  To help people.

But first, they have to learn how to re-create Super Z 108.

“I’m hungry.  Help me get this juice box out of my back pack.”, said my brother… rubbing his grumbling tummy.

WHAT!

How can he think of food at a time like this!

Suddenly, we hear a noise.

The bad guy has thrown a hose into the huge Super Z mix, and is trying to steal it!

“We’ve got to stop him now!”, I whisper sharply.

All of Mommy and Daddy’s work… it’ll be GONE before they get here!

My brother says: “It could be dangerous….

CRASH!

(DISASTER!)

My brother slips on the huge puddle of juice now on the closet floor, falls against the closet door, and lands with a huge THUD!

Right beside the strange man!

AAAAAAAH!!!

The man doesn’t look too pleased.

“Get out of here right now, mister!”, I yell at him.

He doesn’t get out.  In fact, I think he’s about to grab us both.

RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!

He’s dropped the hose, and is chasing us around the lab.

Super Z 108 is spilling all over the floor, everywhere.

Creepy guy is about to catch us!

Just as he lunges for us, we duck, and he crashes into the Super Z container!

SMASH!!!!!

oh NO!

SUPER Z IS SPILLING EVERYWHERE!

It’s all over us!  NO!

“Mommy and Daddy’s work – it’s ruined!”, I gasp… choking on the Super Z.

There’s so much Super Z 108 everywhere that all sorts of chemicals and things are being knocked over.

The thieving man is soaked as well.

But just then, we hear police car sirens.

The man stands there for a minute.

He points a finger at my brother and me.

He looks pretty angry.

And then…

He runs off.

Seconds later, our parents crash through the door with the police right behind.

We’re finally safe.

But the Super Z 108…

Is gone forever.

drip.

drip.

drip.

I turn around, to see my brother drinking loudly from his drippy juice box.

He doesn’t even seem to notice, that he’s soaked in Super Z 108 too.

What a mess.

“What were you kids doing in here?!”, Mommy asks, hugging our wet bodies.

“Peanut-head over here left his soccer ball in your lab yesterday.”

“We just came to get it on the way to sports practice”, I said angrily…

shaking from the cold liquid all over me.

Well, really I was shaking from being scared.

But let’s blame the cold liquid.

My brother sticks his tongue out at me again.

Then goes back to sucking on his precious juice.

drip.

He started putting videos of those live tutorials up on the Internet, as a reference for his cousins.

When he did that, two things happened:

1. His young cousins told him that they preferred him on YouTube, than in PERSON.
2. Other people stumbled upon the videos, loved them, and left him INCREDIBLE comments!  Like:
   “This is the first time I smiled doing a derivative.”

If we’re lucky, this is not only the FUTURE of our kids and young relatives’ education..

This is the present.

Okay – so in case you haven’t heard, the state of Georgia has the second-highest percentage of obese children in the United States.

And people are reacting to that in different ways.

The Georgia Children’s Health Alliance had an ad campaign created, called “Stop Childhood Obesity”, that features four overweight kids. With billboards all over Columbus, Georgia, local residents have mostly been shocked and angered by the ads… expressing concern for the kids’ self esteem.

The cabinet chair of the Georgia Children’s Health Alliance took questions from local News viewers about the controversial  campaign.

“Seventy-five percent of parents of obese kids do not acknowledge that their kids are obese,” Frieson said.
“Until that happens, we’re afraid there will be no traction around this issue.”
